CNN Makes Blatant False Claims about Fox News on Mask/Vaccine Hypocrisy

While not exactly a fact check, CNN does a hypocrisy check.

CNN aired a segment headlined "CNN: Fox New host spouts anti-mask venom while his staff wears masks."

Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy discuss the discrepancy between Fox News' anti-mask and anti-vaccine coverage and the company's mask and vaccine protocols for its own employees.

In the segment, the two personalities state that Fox has COVID-19 safety protocols in place, then blasts them for it, claiming they need to be held accountable. They premise this with the assertion that Fox hosts are anti-mask and anti-vaccine, and continue to spread disinformation.

We challenge CNN to provide an example of "anti-mask [or anti-vaccine] venom" and "blatant disinformation" as they called it, from a Fox News host that is not an opinion show. We are not implying that opinion shows on Fox are anti-mask or anti-vaccine, however, they are not reporting news as much as offering opinions on events, thus hosts with segments that only report the news should be provided.

That said, we also challenge CNN to provide the same example from an opinion show either a), additionally; or, b), if they fail to find an example from a news host.

We will not hold our breath waiting on either.

Fox News has covered both positives and negatives of wearing masks, they have covered opposition to mandates of small children, they have criticized Dr. Faucci's flip-flopping on masks as well ask President Biden giving Americans permission to go without a mask in their backyards, however, they have always and continuously promote CDC protocols and encourage vaccination if people are within the CDC safety guidelines, something CNN notably does not do.

Fox has not once discourage anyone from getting a vaccination and most, if not all, of them are vaccinated, however they do support the freedom to choose while CNN implies those who are unvaccinated are criminal and the cause of death in America from COVIS-19.

While "anti-mask venom" is certainly a relative opinion, clearly they make it sound as if there is a river of mask and vaccination disinformation flowing from Fox News and this simply is not true based on our investigation.

This isn't even a misstatement or a spin on the facts, this is simply a blatant lie. Notably, while complaining not wearing masks, these two individuals were also not wearing masks.
