In an article headlined "Fact Check: Is Joe Biden's Approval Rating Above Bill Clinton's, Close to Barack Obama's?", Newsweek makes some inaccurate statements.
Higher Than Trump
Biden's approval was at 49% when the Newsweek article was published they claim this is higher than Donald Trump's approval rating ever was for the entire term of his Presidency.
On the comparison to Trump, Biden's approval rating has remained higher than his immediate predecessor achieved at any point during his single term
This is, however, incorrect. Trumps' approval rate average hit 49% several times during his presidency including in January, February, March, April and May of 2020, and a single day high of 60% on May 13th, 2020. This is a false statement by Newsweek.
We used Gallup for verification, which is one of the sources cited by Newsweek.
The other claims regarding Clinton and Obama appear to be accurate, although notably, Biden's approval rating is currently at 41%.
